These hand forged axes from Sweden are commonly thought to be the finest axes available. Each professionally forged axe head bears the smith’s initials. The heads are tempered Swedish steel and the handles are American hickory -- long known to be the finest wood for tool handles. Each axe comes with leather sheath; an axe book that describes the forging, maintenance, and use of the axe; and a 20 year guarantee from Gränsfors Bruks.
The prices have recently increased substantially due to the weakness of the dollar which has fallen about 30% against the Swedish Crown 5 and the rising costs of hand forging.
